Checkerboard Redwork Purse

I love Redwork Embroidery and designed a purse in 2009 based on the style. This is the motif from that original design which I have always wanted to do more designs with. It's such a flowing graceful design that could be multiple ways. On the original design , I outlined the motif with an embroidery chain stitch and french knots on in the circles. It took some advanced skills to sew and here I have simplified the sewing to just 2 seams! With this design I added a checkerboard motif across the bottom. I personally love checkerboard designs! You can hook the whole oiece or use the embroidery chain stitch on the motiff only. This version makes a lightweight, sturdy summer purse. Anyway, you choose to hook it, it'll be fun.
